They were returning from the restaurant where they worked, reports RTE.

The single-vehicle crash happened on the R238 at Terrawee in Glenelly at around 12.30 am on Monday.

There were three people in the car.

A second person, a teenager, was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, reports RTE.

The road was closed between Gleneely and Culdaff while Garda Forensic Collision Investigations carried out a technical investigation into the area where the accident happened.

The total number of road deaths due to accidents this year across the country is 163, which is 37 more than the same day last year, reports RTE.
