Patricia McBrearty, an 80-year-old woman, perished on Friday afternoon in the town of St Johnston, County Donegal, after being struck by a truck, reports Breaking News.

A popular mother and grandmother who resided a few yards from the scene of the tragedy—Church Street, off St. Johnston’s main street—died suddenly at 2 p.m., leaving the small community in shock.

Following Mrs. McBrearty’s passing, a neighbour claimed that a “veil of darkness had covered the village”.

In only six days, the woman’s death on Donegal’s roadways was the fourth such instance, reports Breaking News.

Mrs. McBrearty is survived by her son Brian, daughters Tina and Susie, grandkids, and a wider group of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her late husband Paddy.

Her funeral arrangements are still pending.

With the woman’s passing, there have been 12 fatalities on Donegal’s roadways so far this year, two more than in all of 2023, reports Breaking News.

Two cousins were engaged in a single car crash at Cross, Quigley’s Point, on Saturday night, August 24, at 11:15 p.m.

Kian Dawson, a sixteen-year-old passenger in the front seat of the vehicle, passed away instantly, reports Breaking News.

After being sent to Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital to receive emergency care for injuries he had incurred in the collision, his 20-year-old cousin Eoghan passed away on Tuesday.

An 87-year-old woman was taken to Sligo University Hospital on Sunday morning following a two-vehicle collision in Inver, south Donegal, with significant injuries, reports Breaking News.
