Tropical storm Ian has been upgraded to hurricane status, with significant impact expected across Cuba and Florida.
Ian is currently tracking just 90 miles (150km) southwest of the Cayman Islands, and local authorities are advising the evacuation of some communities in the weather system’s path.
According to forecasts, Ian carries ‘life-threatening’ winds and rainfall.
