In the event that has become known as “Bloody Friday”, fifteen people out of the thirty nine fatalities in the Sousse beach resort atrocity have been confirmed as being British tourists.
The Sousse massacre is now the deadliest terror attack suffered by British people since the bombings of July 7, 2005.
It is alleged that 23-year-old engineering student Seifeddine Rezgui was the perpetrator of the massacre. Wielding a Kalashnikov assault rifle, he fired on a crowded beach, killing at least 39 people and leaving scores more wounded.
Rezgui was shot dead by police forces after the attack.
