Two Muslim women go on trial for attempted fire bombing of Notre Dame Cathedral

Two Muslim women in France have gone on trial in a special Paris court for an attempted fire-bombing attack on Notre Dame Cathedral.

Ines Madani, (22) is considered the mastermind behind the failed plot was just a teenager when she and Ornella Gilligmann attempted to explode a vehicle laden with fuel-doused gas canisters.

The two women had been recruited by one of France’s most notorious jihadists, Rachid Kassim, after they joined a social network on Telegram that is run by the Islamist.

Kassim was a key Islamic State recruiter in France and was linked to the Islamist attack on a Normandy Catholic Church in which 85-year-old Fr Jacques Hamel was murdered on the alter in front of his congregation by having his throat cut.

He is also linked to the killing of a French police couple who were stabbed to death at their home in front of their child in June 2016.

Kassim was killed in a US airstrike in Mosul, Iraq in June 2017.

He instructed the two women on how to carry out the attack on Notre Dame advising them on “filling a vehicle with gas cylinders and spraying them with fuel” to enact the attack or carry out mass stabbings at the tourist hot spot.

The inept pair launched their failed attack on September 4th, 2016, when they parked their Peugeot carrying six gas canisters near Notre Dame, doused them with diesel fuel and tried to set them alight.

After the attack failed the police discovered the car belonged to Madani’s father the two women’s fingerprints and DNA were also found on the canisters inside.

Just days after the failed attack Madani attempted another terrorist atrocity with the encouragement and advice of Kassim. She intended to launch a stabbing rampage with the help of other female jihadis but was apprehended by police beforehand.

The two woman are now facing 30 years to life in prison if convicted.  Tell us your thoughts in the Facebook post and share this with your friends.
