Two police officers have been shot dead during a traffic stop in Germany overnight.
The incident happened shortly before 4.30am on District Road 22 in the district of Kusel, in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The perpetrators fled the scene.
While common in the United States, this type of incident is almost unheard of in Europe.
