Two boys, aged 14 and 15, have been arrested on suspicion of murder, after an 82-year-old woman in Suffolk died following a robbery at her home.
Joy Middleditch died in hospital after she was found on the floor of her home following the accident on Saturday 25 March, reports Sky News.
She was found conscious and breathing but in a critical condition and was taken to James Paget University Hospital, Norfolk, where she died in the early hours of Monday, 27 March.
The two boys are from the Lowestoft area of East Suffolk and have been questioned by Martlesham Police, reports Sky News.
Ms Middleditch told relatives and police she heard a bang on the door before two masked men burst in and threw her to the floor.
Police said the attack took place between the evening of Friday 24 March and the early hours of Saturday.
Ms Middleditch’s purse was taken, but was recovered nearby in another street.
An Interior Ministry autopsy was performed on Monday but the cause of death has not yet been confirmed, reports Sky News.
The pensioner’s family said in an earlier statement that she was “a strong, determined character who loved life and her dog. She was a loving person who was sadly taken from us too soon,” reports Sky News.
