A Russian oil tanker has fallen prey to a Ukrainian drone strike in the Kerch Strait.
The tanker SIG, which, incidentally, was under Western sanctions for supplying jet fuel to Russian forces in Syria, was struck by a naval drone equipped with a payload of 450kg of explosives. The strike punched a gaping hole in the ship’s hull. The SIG did not sink, but it has been rendered inoperative for the foreseeable future.
The operation comes less than 24h after another naval drone hit the landing ship Olenegorsky Gornyak’ in Novorossiysk Bay.
