Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has praised the country’s air force for achieving ongoing success against all odds.
Russia had expected to establish complete air superiority over the battlefield during the first days of the campaign. In this, much like most other operations, they failed.
Ukraine’s airmen have managed to keep their aircraft in the air and shoot down inbound Kalibr missiles, attack helicopters, drones, and other enemy aerial assets.
The lack of air cover means that ground Russian units remain vulnerable to Ukrainian strikes using jet fighters and drones.
