As part of a military aid deal for around 375 million dollars, the US will deliver Ukraine an unknown quantity of medium-range cluster bombs along with a variety of rockets, artillery, and armoured vehicles, according to US officials, reports Breaking News.

On Wednesday, when world leaders gather at the UN General Assembly and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky uses his presence to bolster support and convince the US to permit his soldiers to employ long-range weaponry to strike further into Russia, officials anticipate an announcement.

Mr. Zelensky is scheduled to meet with Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden in Washington the following day, reports Breaking News.

According to officials, the aid includes munitions for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (Himars), Javelin and other anti-armour systems, Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles, bridging systems, and other vehicles and military equipment. Air-to-ground bombs also contain cluster munitions and can be fired by Ukraine’s fighter jets.

The US officials did not want to be identified since the assistance has not yet been made public.

Using the presidential drawdown power, the most recent arms package approved is one of the largest in recent memory and will draw from the stockpiles of the Pentagon to expedite delivery of weapons to Ukraine, reports Breaking News.

It comes as roughly $6 billion in aid money for Ukraine is about to expire if Congress does not take action to extend the Pentagon’s ability to transfer weapons from its arsenal to Kyiv at the end of the month.

Congressmen said on Sunday that they had struck a deal on a short-term financing package, but it is not clear if the interim measure would include wording allowing the Pentagon to transfer arms to Ukraine while talks with Congress go on.

According to reports on Tuesday, Ukraine has forced Russia out of a sizable processing factory in the town of Vovchansk that it had controlled for four months. Ukrainian and Russian soldiers are engaged in hand-to-hand battle in the Kharkiv border region, reports Breaking News.
