Uproar from some parents as close to 20,000 Ukrainians pupils get enrolled in Irish schools




Up till the end of 2023, 18,003 Ukrainian students were enrolled in schools in Ireland, according to the Department of Education, reports Breaking News.

Of that total, 11,165 students are enrolled in primary schools, while 6,838 students are enrolled in post-primary institutions.

According to this data, 89.5 percent of Ukrainian children between the ages of 5 and 18 are enrolled.

“The department wishes to thank school communities and stakeholders at a local and national level across Ireland for their engagement, collaboration and support in accommodating Ukrainian pupils in Irish primary and post-primary schools,” a spokesperson said, reports Breaking News.
