In an example of true spite and classlessness a restaurant owner has allegedly paid one of his workers his final wages in purely 5c coins.

Rian Keogh said on Twitter that “after chasing my last pay for weeks I finally got it but in a bucket of 5c coins”, the post was accompanied by a picture of the bucket of brass along with screenshots of WhatsApp messages with the Restaurant owner in which the former employee enquires about his final pay packet.

In the messages Mr. Keogh is asked by his former employer if cash was ok as they did not keep the bank details of their former employees.

Mr. Keogh informed the Restauranter that he needs to be paid as soon as possible as he “can’t go without it much longer”, and that cash payment would due.

The Restaurant owner responding: “Like I said I’ll have every cent ready for you on Tuesday,”.

A bucket full of small coins was the cash payment that Mr. Keogh would receive.

Now there a call for a full-scale boycott of the Dublin City restaurant until restitution to the former employee is made.
