The US Navy ship USS Boxer has confirmed the destruction of an Iranian drone over the Strait of Hormuz today.
American military sources say that the drone came to ‘within 1,000 yards’ of the warship, prompting defensive action.
The incident comes amidst heightened tensions between the US and Iran.
