Varadkar says Israel has become completely blinded by rage

According to Taoiseach Leo Vardakar, Israel has been “blinded by rage” and he doesn’t know if the nation is paying attention to anyone in the globe, let alone the United States, reports RTE.

Speaking to the Dáil during Leaders Questions, Mr. Varadkar warned that if a ground assault took place, there was a serious risk of a massacre in Rafah, southern Gaza, which would be a “gross violation of international law on top of all of the other violations of international law which Israel is responsible for”.

Mr. Varadkar stated that he thought Israel and Hamas should both accept a cease-fire agreement that had been brokered by Egypt, Qatar, and the US, reports RTE.

It came about in response to inquiries from Labour leader Ivana Bacik, who demanded that the EU-Israel economic association deal be cancelled.

In addition, she informed the Dáil that the Occupied Territories Bill complies with EU legislation, based on legal advice she had obtained.

In response, Mr. Varadkar stated that he had discussed the EU-Israel trade pact with Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, yesterday.

He did, however, add that it could not be removed without the support of all EU members, which was impossible to achieve, reports RTE.
