Varadkar: We’ll help the FAI but we won’t hand out blank cheques

The FAI appears to be in an absolute mess with few options to save the organisation.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said today that the Government ‘will help the FAI’, but will not write ‘blank cheques’, according to an article published by the Herald.

The embattled organization is in debt to the tune of about €65m after years of gross financial mismanagement.

FAI officials have said that there’s a very real possibility that the organization might have to be liquidated if a solution is not found sooner, rather than later.
