American comedian Dave Chappelle was assaulted during an event at the Hollywood Bowl Theater in Los Angeles.
The 48-year-old comedian was performing Tuesday night as part of the Netflix Is A Joke festival when a man stormed the stage, according to US media.
Actor Jamie Foxx reportedly joined Chappelle and helped apprehend the suspected attacker before the performance resumed.
Video posted on social media appears to show a man with a serious arm injury being transported to an ambulance.
A spokeswoman for the Hollywood Bowl said an investigation had been launched following the attack on the Los Angeles complex.
