Notice issued as a number of bottled water products have been recalled from IRISH supermarkets




Consumers have been warned not to drink certain brands of bottled water after the Food Safety Authority issued a recall at number of the country’s leading supermarkets.

The recall comes after it was discovered that higher than normal levels of arsenic were detected in someĀ  bottles.

In an announcement posted on the FSAI website, it was confirmed that bottles of water have been recalled from Dunnes Stores, Aldi, Lidl, Applegreen, Mace and a number of other stores.

The statement reads as follows: “Arsenic was detected above the legal limit in several branded still and sparkling bottled waters.”

“The implicated batches are being recalled from consumers.”

“Point-of-sale notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batches.”

The list of affected bottles are below:

Aldi/Comeragh (Still and Sparkling)

Applegreen (Still water)

Broderick (Still water)

Dunnes Stores (Still and Sparkling and Flavoured)

Itica (Still water )

Lidl (Still water )

Londis (Still water)

Mace (Still water)

Macari (Still water)

Plane (Still water)

San Marino (Still water )

Spar (Still water)

The FSAI have also warned consumers not to drink the affected batches of water and seek medical assistance if they become unwell.
