Social welfare recipients are being reminded to take note of an upcoming adjustment to their payment dates, reports The Mirror.
The first bank holiday of the year, St Brigid’s Day, is approaching and will occur on the first Monday in February.
Consequently, banks and post offices will be closed on Monday, February 2 this year, reports The Mirror.
This means anyone due a social welfare payment on February 2 should expect it to arrive ahead of schedule, ensuring nobody faces a delay because of the bank closure, reports RSVP Live.
Payments are anticipated to reach accounts on either Friday, January 30 or Saturday, January 31, reports The Mirror.
Child Benefit recipients will also see an early payment due to the bank holiday, most likely on the Friday or Saturday.
This step is being taken to avoid any delays caused by banks being shut, reports The Mirror.

In related developments this week, thousands of people are due to get a higher Fuel Allowance payment. The Fuel Allowance helps cover household heating expenses through the cold winter period and is provided to just one person per household.
Normally, the Fuel Allowance season begins in late September annually and continues until April, paid out as €33 per week for 28 weeks or as two lump sums adding up to €924, reports The Mirror.
However, starting from January, the weekly rate has increased by €5 to €38, bringing the overall amount above €1,000.
Furthermore, the Working Family Payment has now been added as a qualifying payment for the Fuel Allowance, reports The Mirror.
