Members of the European Parliament have ratified Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal, effectively guaranteeing Britain’s departure from the EU on Friday evening.
The vote came after senior EU figures formally signed the deal for the UK to leave.
Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage said in his final speech that the UK was “never coming back”.
Finishing his speech, Mr Farage and his allies waved union flags with chants of cheerio being heard.
To be fair to them, some European politicians took it in good jest and wished the UK well saying that they’d miss their wit.
