Weather warnings are in effect this morning as miserable conditions hit Ireland, with widespread heavy rain and snowfalls in some areas.
According to the national forecaster, most of the country will be blighted by rain throughout the morning and early afternoon.
The outlook is for cold and unsettled weather to continue on Friday and into the weekend.
