“What about people who pay tax?” – Not everyone is happy that welfare recipients will receive their Christmas Bonus in early December

Certain people who are PRSI workers are saying that they’re getting next to nothing out of the budget, while people on social welfare are getting a bonus, as they call it, “for doing nothing”.

Many social media users claim that this isn’t fair because some people can’t find work or are unable to work for whatever reason, while others say it’s a justified statement.

It’s been widely denoted as a “cost of living budget” and it would appear that the government have tried to tick as many boxes as possible to plicate the usual voters and canvassers they have.

Either way, social welfare recipients will be getting an extra €12 per in their weekly payment.

The Minister for Finance Paschal Donohue also confirmed that social welfare recipients will receive their Christmas Bonus this year in early December.

Alongside that, the government says it’s going to give out a total of €600 to households to meet rising energy costs.
