The first major public opinion survey in the Race to the Áras reveals that Catherine Connolly was currently the frontrunner to become President in just three weeks’ time, just before Jim Gavin announced that he was pulling out.
In stark contrast early Sunday, Jim Gavin ranked as the public’s third preference, according to the Ireland Thinks poll published in the Sunday Independent.
Connolly lead with 32 per cent, followed by Fine Gael candidate Heather Humphreys, who stood at 23 per cent.
Gavin, at the time, had followed in third place with 15 per cent support.
But now that Gavin has pulled out, what happens now? It’s a straight shootout between the two women – so who will win? Tell us your thoughts in the Facebook post and share this with your friends.
