What Irish homeless problem? Government considers leasing more hotels for Ukrainians with hopes to house 6,000 of them by the end of the summer

It appears as though if you’re Irish and homeless then you don’t matter whatsoever in the eyes of the Irish government.

People in the Dail seem to conveniently forget that there’s over 10,000 of our own lying in doorways, hotel rooms and park benches around the country and hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians are to be welcomed in.

Alongside that, the government’s aim is to house some 6,000 Ukrainians by the end of the summer.

The government is considering leasing Citywest Hotel for two years to accommodate 2,000 Ukrainians.

It appears the government are completely unaware of the 10,000 Irish who lie homeless around the country.

Instead, many believe that they’re bent on looking like good little boys and girls in front of the EU and USA by taking in endless numbers of Ukrainians into the Emerald Isle while our home die on the streets.

It’s understood the deal, if it goes ahead, is part of a €10.5 million taxpayer funded package that the government will sign off on for Ukrainians.

No such consideration has been given to the homeless however, who some say don’t matter because they’re Irish and not Ukrainian.
