RTE’s “stars” are paid absolutely enormously with Ryan Tubridy topping the bill at close to half a million euro a year.
On tonight’s Ray D’Arcy show, actor Richard E. Grant practically had D’Arcy picking his own jaw up when he abruptly just asked him “what do you spend your €400,000 on?”.
Making reference to D’Arcy’s wikipedia page, Grant joked that Ray had started to DJ when he was just 15 and that he makes €400,000 a year.
D’Arcy didn’t know what to say, literally. He was completely speechless and just open-gapped laughed and the audience clapped.
There has been much speculation that Tubridy and D’Arcy at on about €10,000 and €8,000 a week respectively.
