The World Health Organisation have said that they hope that the Covid-19 pandemic could end within two years.
Speaking about the pandemic Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said if we were to look at previous pandemics and the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918, this pandemic could last about the same amount of time.
Ghebreyesus said that the world has evolved since that particular pandemic especially with technology which could spread the virus further but equally work quicker to find solutions for the virus.
He added “It’s about utilising the available tools to the maximum and hoping that we can have additional tools like vaccines, I think we can finish it in a shorter time than the 1918 flu.”
