Tyson Fury will get another shot at Deontay Wilder’s WBC Championship belt in their rematch tonight in Las Vegas following December 2018’s controversial draw.
The rematch comes after Fury’s promoter Frank Warren wrote to the WBC board calling for a rematch after questioning the result of their first fight.
Tonight’s fight comes after Wilder’s devastating knockout of Dominic Breazeale and Luis Ortiz in 2019.
In a statement, the WBC approved the rematch saying: “The World Boxing Council conducted a voting through the Board of Governors.”
“It resulted in a unanimous agreement to sanction a direct rematch between WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury.”
“The WBC is happy to confirm that a direct rematch has been approved and will create in a ruling which will also consider the mandatory status of the division.”
And that rematch will happen around 5am Sunday morning (GTM time) on BT Sport
