The company claimed this morning that payment compliance has now magically increased from 43% to 51%. No sooner was the word out when Ms. Burton quickly composed herself and grabbed the nearest microphone to hail this as a “significant improvement.”
She said “We hope to encourage everybody to pay – and already if the figures, if the story that’s in the media this morning is correct, then what Irish Water predicted – we’re setting up a very large public utility,”
“The expectations are that as each billing cycle arrives, the actual payment rates will increase over time”
