A 70-yr-old woman has become “Africa’s oldest mother” after giving birth to twins, reports Sky.
Safina Namukwaya gave birth to a boy and a girl on November 29 after in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment at the Women’s Hospital International and Fertility Center in Kampala, Uganda.
The Center described the birth as “historic”.
“We’ve achieved the extraordinary – delivering twins to Africa’s oldest mother aged 70!” it said in a statement on Facebook, reports Sky.
This is her second birth in three years, and in 2020 she gave birth to a girl through in vitro fertilization, reports Sky.
