A Paraguayan woman had the shock of her life when she woke up in a body bag after being pronounced dead. Gladys Rodríguez Duarte was being prepared for a funeral service a few hours later with her family informed that she was dead.
The married mother went to the San Fernando clinic in the city of Coronel Oviedo last weekend because her blood pressure had dramatically increased, Mail Online report. Local media report that the woman was 46 years old.
Approximately two hours after her arrival, a doctor confirmed the death of Mrs. Rodríguez Duarte to her husband Maximino Duarte Ferreira and their daughter Sandra Duarte. However, however a funeral director discovered that she moved in a body bag when she was being unloaded.
Mrs. Rodríguez Duarte was admitted to the hospital at 9:30am Local time and was examined by Dr. Heriberto Vera, who declared her dead at 11:20am, Paraguayan police said. The ovarian cancer patient was then transported to a local funeral home where surprised staff discovered she was alive.
Her husband told Paraguayan television network TV Aire: ‘He (Dr Vera) assumed she was dead and handed her naked to me like an animal with her death certificate. He didn’t even revive her.
