A Polish woman claiming to be Madeleine McCann has deleted her Instagram account as public statements by Polish police have been questioned.

Julia Wendell was documenting her claims and alleged evidence online through her recently deleted Facebook and TikTok accounts. She now she also deleted her Instagram of hers, reports The Mirror.

The 21-year-old, who she believed to be the missing Leicestershire girl who disappeared in Portugal aged 7 in 2007, had more than 1 million followers on the social media site.

Here she claimed that she had a similar patch in her eye to Madeleine’s, that she did not remember most of her childhood and that she was allegedly abused by a German paedophile, who was one of the prime suspects in her Madeleine case, reports The Mirror.

Dr. Fia Johansson, a private investigator and alleged medium, visited on March 1 to attest to Julia’s claims. The two had appeared together in a video that has since been removed.

However, one user re-uploaded it to Tiktok.

In it, Dr Johansson recounts an earlier statement by the Polish police that Julia was not Madeleine when they met with her family.

She stated: “We started to investigate this situation for 45 minutes and what we got back [was that] no police officers whatsoever in Poland said that she is, or she is not, Madeleine McCann,” reports The Mirror.

She also said that the Polish police could only look into the matter at the request of the British or Portuguese authorities.

After deleting both Facebook and TikTok last week, the woman wrote: “If you don’t like me, please unfollow. I don’t want fans or followers. I closed my Facebook account and TikTok so people can’t make fun of me,” reports The Mirror.
