Wonder why? Ireland’s tourism officials are very concerned for the future of Irish tourism

The Irish Tourist Industry Confederation’s (ITIC) chief executive stated that 2023 demonstrated the strength and resiliency of the Irish tourism industry, but he also cautioned that the sector will encounter several difficulties in 2019.

According to Eoghan O’Mara Walsh, foreign visitors spent over €5.3 billion in this country last year, with the US and Canada being the two most lucrative markets.

According to him, the nature of Irish tourism hasn’t altered significantly over time, and the markets in continental Europe and North America continue to offer the greatest opportunities.

ITIC is still hoping for a 5% revenue gain in 2024, according to Mr. O’Mara Walsh of RTÉ’s Morning Ireland. This would keep the industry moving towards a full recovery following the Covid pandemic.
