Wonderful news: Beagles scheduled to be killed following pesticide lab tests have been saved by animal shelter

A group of beagles who were scheduled to be killed following pesticide lab tests have thankfully been saved by an Animal Shelter, it has been revealed.

In a Facebook post published this week, The Michigan Humane Society who worked tiressly to rescue the dogs, confirmed that the dogs have been taken into their custody and will be rehomed.

The welcome news comes after it was revealed last month that dogs who were being subjected to tests at Dow AgroSciences, were scheduled to be killed in July, in order to comply with Brazilian regulations.

However in a Facebook post the Michigan Humane Society revealed that the dogs have been saved.

In the post the society said: “We are happy to announce that the beagles from the study are now in our care.”

“The process of evaluating each one of them to determine the optimal placement option will likely take several weeks.”

“A timeframe for when these beagles will be available for adoption and details regarding adoption applications will be announced via our social channels.”

They added: “Our focus right now is on working toward positive re-homing opportunities for each of the animals.”

It is reported that the Humane Society managed to save the dogs after they lobbied the Brazilian government to sign waivers that would allow the dogs to live.
