The world’s oldest known white rhino has passed away aged 54.
The animal, affectionately known as Grandpa Toby, had been housed at the Parco Natura Viva zoo near Verona in Italy. It collapsed on its way to his shelter and died a short time later.
White rhinos tend to live up to 40 years in captivity, but Grandpa Toby defied such odds.
Its body will be embalmed and put on display at a science museum in Trento.
