Gardaí in Co Cork have begun an investigation after a young boy was rushed to hospital this afternoon following a road traffic incident.
It is understood the young boy was rushed to hospital following an incident in Aiseiri Chriost on Knockpogue Avenue, Farranree, at approximately 2:45pm.
It is reported that the boy sustained serious injuries following the incident.
Gardaí say the road was closed off and investigations are ongoing.
