Authorities in the Netherlands have confirmed that a young Irish woman has died in a road traffic incident.
It is understood the 21-year-old woman from Co Cork, sadly passed away after she was struck by a car in the city of Utrecht, at approximately 4.30am on Sunday morning.
According local media reports the driver of the vehicle initially fled the scene, but he later turned himself into police.
Police say that an investigation is currently ongoing.
