Gardai raced to an incident that happened on Monday evening in Portmarnock, north Dublin where an off-duty garda was badly beaten by a gang of thugs.
Several Gardai, including the the public order Unit, investigated on particular property in the Portmarnock area.
An off-duty Garda was brutally attacked by gang of teenage thugs that had traveled to the area from Darndale.
According to Dublin Live, the gang, which announced that they were armed, shouted “You’re dead” to several frightened residents and threatened to “slash” the off duty Garda and other brave residents who attempted to stop the brawl.
Gardai say that the investigation is ongoing and centre on the Ardilaun area of the district.
