18-year-old Ahmed Hassan has been charged in relation to the Parsons Green terrorist attack that caused injuries to at least 29 people.
The young man will now appear in court on charges of attempted murder, possession of explosives, and using the chemical compound triacetone triperoxide (TATP).
Hassan, who is understood to have spent some time in foster care in the UK in his younger years, is suspected to have planted a crudely-made explosive device inside a Tube carriage. The device failed to detonate properly, but had it gone off the way it was intended, great loss of life may have occurred.
Three other men remain in custody in connection to the plot.
