A truck and motorbike collided in Co Cork, resulting in the death of the biker, reports RTE.
The man, who was in his 40s, was killed in the Toureenfineen collision.
After being taken to Cork University Hospital, his remains will be examined post-mortem.
The scene is presently being examined by Garda forensic crash investigators, reports RTE.
There are minor detours in place, and the route is still closed.
There were no other injuries recorded.
The Gardaí are requesting that anyone who saw this collision get in touch with them.
Road users who have dash-cam or other video footage and were travelling in the vicinity at the time are requested to forward it to the gardaí, reports RTE.
