Adams: “My position will always be up for debate but I have no intention to step down”

Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams has said his position will always be up for debate, but he has no intention to step down any time soon.

Mr Adams comments come after the party held a meeting in Dublin this afternoon to discuss it’s future.

Mr Adams told reporters despite numerous changes within the party, he is not leaving and is staying put for now: “We are a party in transition, we are also a leadership in transition.

“We are very democratic and our membership elects our leadership every single year. “But all of those issues are up for debate of course.”
