Autumn weather begins to bite, with persistent rain and low temperatures forecast for the next few days





Autumnal weather has arrived to Ireland, as the national forecaster predicts low temperatures and persistent rain for the next few days.

The thermometer will hover at around 12-13C during the day today, sinking to just 2C after dark tonight. There will be outbreaks of rain across many areas.

The weather forecast for the coming weekend is not great, with heavy rain predicted for tomorrow, Friday, becoming widespread as the day goes on.
