Big celebrations in Cork city as Olympic rowing silver medalists the O’Donovan brothers are to turn on Christmas lights




There were will be big celebrations in Cork city next Sunday November the 13th as Olympic rowing silver medalists Paul and Gary O’Donovan will be switching on the Christmas lights.

The event which will be held on St Patrick’s street and will see crowds of thousands will get underway at 6:30pm, will also see thousands of lights being lit all across the city.

Speaking about the occasion Paul and Gary said they were honoured: “Following what has been a rollercoaster few months, we are delighted to help kick-off the Christmas season in Cork city.”

“Hopefully Santa can fit a few oars down the chimneys next month. Thank you for all your magnificent support and happy Christmas to one and all.”
