The small town of Trebes in Southern France is currently dealing with a reported terrorist attack after a lone gunman took a supermarket hostage this afternoon.
According to French police at least two people have been killed and a dozen injured have been injured in the attack which occurred at approximately 12pm local time.
Although it is has not yet been officially confirmed but French authorities say they believe the incident may be terrorist related.
French media sources have reported that the hostage taker is currently held up inside the supermarkets and has demanded the release of Salah Abdeslamone who is one of the survivors of the 2015 Paris terrorist attacks.
A number of eyewitnesses at the scene say the individual who is thought to be now known to authorities, shouted Allahu Akbar [God is greatest], I’ll kill you all” whilst brandishing a gun at the supermarket.
