Women in Ireland and indeed across the world are being urged to be on the lookout whilst entering public changing rooms or rest rooms as there could very well be someone watching you without you even knowing it.
The public warning which originally emanated in the US and has made its way to Ireland and the UK comes after it was uncovered that some public restrooms and changing rooms have had a specific type of coat hanger installed that houses a camera within.
According to The Irish Mirror the specialist coat hanger (pictured above) which can be purchased online via websites such Amazon and eBay are being installed by perverted individuals in public areas used by women.
The paper have said the sophisticated hanger which looks like regular coat hanger houses a tiny camera that picks up and records what goes on in front of it.
Although the only known cases have been reported in the US, retailers and councils both here and in the UK have been urged to be on the lookout for the hanger.
It is thought the hangers which can record footage to any computer are being used by sick individuals who then share the footage online.
