Management at one of the countries biggest radio stations Today FM have confirmed they have had a “stern” talk with the crew on the Fergal D’Arcy show after some crude comment were made during a recent broadcast.
Bosses at the station say although the comments were unintentional they have warned staff that their conducted was unprofessional.
The a complaint was made after the two DJs were discussing the German term ‘Schlappschwanz’, which is used to describe a person as a ‘wimp’ During this conversation, presenter Fergal D’Arcy mentioned that it can literally be translated as ‘weak cock’.
However in a response, Today FM said it was “confident no innuendo was used” and that the mistranslation was delivered in “a mostly factual tone”.
