Chinese President Xi Jinping has reportedly called for a toning down of the rhetoric sported by both President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.
Both leaders have stepped up their words in recent days, issuing thinly veiled threats against each other.
It is understood that Jinping contacted Mr. Trump by phone to discuss the escalating situation in the Korean Peninsula.
China said recently that the country would remain neutral if North Korea strikes first. However, if the US and/or South Korea are the ones to start the conflict, China would intervene militarily to defend the current socio-political landscape in the region.
