There was good news for commuters in Dublin city as the Minister for Transport Shane Ross has confirmed the new multi-million cross city Luas line will be fully operational by this Christmas.
Mr Ross who was speaking over the weekend said the new service will provide great benefits to those living in the capital although there are few kinks to work out before it can become operational.
Speaking to reporters over the weekend Mr Ross said: “I think that there will be a little bit of difficulty in the interim period when they’re doing the testing, and it will difficult in that time from August onwards.
“Once it gets going in December, it will be fantastic, and people will adjust to it very quickly.”
The Transport Minister’s comments come after the new line seen a number of test runs throughout Saturday and Sunday.
