Up to a sprawl of 60,000 people are now without water this morning in the South Louth/East Meath district of Drogheda and its surrounding areas.
The town has been left without any water for its residents or businesses since early Friday.
People have had to resort to buying bottled water to even flush their toilets and wash their hands.
Locals say Tesco, Aldi, Lidl and all local retailers have sold out of bottled water and are almost sold out of baby wipes and dry shampoo.
Irish Water initially said the problem would be solved at the weekend but this morning it’s being reported that it’ll be at least Thursday before any sign of normality is returned to the area.
