Don’t get sick in Ireland – 600 people languished on trolleys around the country yesterday

The message is simple – don’t get sick in Ireland!

2019 has started off the same way 2018 ended in Irish hospitals, as 600 people languished on trolleys around the country yesterday, according to figures just released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO).

This is the highest figure recorded since March of last year.

University Hospital Limerick once again tops the shameful list, with 59 patients suffering while waiting for a bed, followed by South Tipperary Hospital with 50, and Cork University Hospital with 48.

Decades of poor investments and gross mismanagement on the HSE’s part has led to a chronically underfunded and understaffed sector which puts patients’ lives at risk the moment they set foot in the medical facility.
