According to a recent survey conducted by Eurostat the European Central Statistics Office Ireland had the largest proportion people under the age 15 in the EU last year, which stood at 22%.
The survey placed France in second place at almost 19%, with countries such as the UK and Denmark placed third and fourth respectively. Although countries such as Germany, Bulgaria and Italy recorded the lowest shares of young people.
The survey also found that Ireland is the most youthful country in the EU overall, with statistics revealing that four in 10 people are aged under 30.
