They say you cannot deny love and that love lives through the ages, well this phrase was certainly true for one Scandinavian couple who were found by police after a nursing home reported a 92-year-old woman missing recently.

The woman in question was found recently after she willingly left the home to run off with her 87-year-old Swedish boyfriend. TheĀ alarm was raised by staff at theĀ home when they found her abandoned walking frame in a nearby car park.

The discovery led staff to alert local authorities that the woman had vanished, Police then launched a full scale missing person’s investigation which led them to find out that the 92-year-old woman had disappeared from the home to take off with her Swedish lover, an 87-year-old man. Police subsequently called off the search after they had learned that the elderly womanĀ made her way by car to Stockholm Sweden, some 570km’s away, so she could be with her 87-year-old partner.

The whole incident was found to be quiet a heartwarming story by many, including Janka Holstad the retirement home manager who told local newspaper Eidsvoll, “we all found the whole affair to be ā€œa touching love story.ā€ she further explained:Ā ā€œImagine not being able to go on a romantic holiday just because youā€™re past 90. The lady did nothing illegal, but she caused some uneasiness for us, because she never announced she was leaving.”

It is understood that the elderly woman has since spent two weeks with her Swedish boyfriend after the incident initially occurred and she is known to have maintained a long-distance relationship since she first entered the Vilberg old folksā€™ home. The woman says she fully intends to return to Norway over the weekend.
